Classical, French slate & red marble 8 day clock striking onto a bell. The clock is supporting an enchanting bronze, depicting a seated and pensive ‘Sappho’ (Greek lyric poet) sculpted by Jean Jacques Pradier. The bronze is signed ‘Pradier Susse’. Circa 1848.
